Honda Activa Is Officially the Largest Selling 2 Wheeler in India for 2016

  • Honda sold 13,38,015 units of the Activa from January till June 2016
  • Hero sold 12,33,725 units of the Splendor in the same period
  • The Activa sales account for almost 15% of the total 2-wheeler industry

There is no doubt that Honda Two Wheelers is currently having a purple patch in India. Its models are doing very well and the Activa, well, has now officially become the highest selling two-wheeler in India by having beaten the Hero Splendor for the last 6 months. This is the first time in 17 long years that this has happened. Such was the might and hold of Hero and erstwhile Hero Honda on the Indian two-wheeler industry.

But the Activa came up and how. In the last 6 months, it sold 13, 38, 015 units to come up to the top of the two-wheeler sales chart. You would be surprised to know that the Activa contributes to almost 15 per cent of the overall domestic two-wheeler sales, which, surprisingly, is larger than the combined total sales of 125cc motorcycles in India. For the first half of 2016, the Honda Activa has a lead of little more than 1 lakh units over the Hero Splendor.

Xiaomi to Offer Phones and More at Re. 1 to Celebrate 2 Years in India 

Xiaomi is launching a three-day carnival to commemorate its two years in India. Kicking it off on July 20, the Chinese conglomerate looks to conduct a host of contests, announce some temporary price drops and introduce Re.1 flash deals during its Mi 2nd anniversary carnival.
Beginning with the flash deals, Xiaomi is giving away a host of its devices for just Re. 1 to registered users. On the first day, 10 Xiaomi Mi 5 and 100 Mi Power Bank (20000mAh) will be up for grabs. On July 21, 10 Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 and 100 Mi Band (white LED) will be available for flash deals, and on the last day 10 Xiaomi Mi Max and 100 Mi Bluetooth speakers will be up for grabs. The flash deals will be conducted at 2pm everyday, and registration for being eligible for these flash deals involves sharing the news on Facebook before July 19.
Apart from these flash deals, Xiaomi will put up limited stocks of new items like the 10000mAh Mi Power Bank, Mi In-Ear Capsule Headphones, and Mi In-Ear Headphones Pro Gold variant in these three days. The company is also giving out Mi cash coupons, and a free Mi Max for playing a game on the Mi 2nd Anniverary website. The price drop deal is essentially only on its Bluetooth speaker, which will be available for a Rs. 700 discount, and will be priced at Rs. 1,999 for those three days.
There are several app exclusive offers as well. The Xiaomi Mi 5 Gold colour variant is being sold with a free Mi In-Ear Headphones Pro Gold. The Xiaomi Mi 4i comes with a free USB cable and a USB Fan. There are also app-exlcusive offers for the Redmi Note 3, Mi Max, and the 20000mAh Power Bank. Interestingly, Xiaomi will also give away one Mi TV to a randomly selected buyer who purchased from the Mi Store app.
Xiaomi entered the country in 2014 by launching the Mi 3 smartphone in India. Nicknamed the 'Apple of China', the company has managed to garner quite a huge fan following, and for that purpose Xiaomieven introduced a separate Mi Community forum for its followers in the country. It managed to sellthree million smartphone in just one and a half year from entering the market.

Samsung and Reliance jio have partnered to allow users of select smartphones to avail
of the Jio Preview Offer. While the offer was previously only available bundled with the
purchase of RelianceRetail's Lyf brand of smartphones,and the move marks the first time
Reliance jio has tied up with another mobile manufacturer for the preview.
As reported by TechPP, the Reliance Jio Preview Offer gives users of select Samsung smartphones three months of unlimited data, HD voice and video calling, 
and SMS messages on a Jio SIM, apart from access to Jio applications. The offer is available for both existing and new customers of select Samsung 
smartphones.                                                          

The report lists the eligible Samsung smartphones,all of which are of course 4G-enabled
with support for the FDD-LTE Band 3 (1800MHz).
The Samsung Galaxy A5, Galaxy A5 (2016) Galaxy A7, Galaxy A7 (2016), Galaxy A8,
Galaxy Note 4,Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy Note 5Duos, Galaxy Note Edge, Galaxy S6, Galaxy
S6 Edge,Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy S7, and the Galaxy S7 Edge are reportedly
eligible for the offer.
To avail the offer, users of the above-mentionedselect Samsung smartphones will have
todownload the MyJio app. Once they've done so,they'll find an option to Get Jio SIM.Clicking
on that will generate a coupon with abarcode and Jio Offer code that
mentionsa period of validity. The coupon isnon-transferable, and can only be used
 on the device it is generated on. Users will then have to choose which proof of
address and proof identity they would like to submit as verification documents.
After this, users will have to visit their nearest Reliance digital store to submit their documentation and pick up the free Reliance jio SIM card. Once they've picked up the SIM card, users will need to insert it into their smartphone and then tele-verify it by calling 1977. At that point, users need to open the MyJio app again and avail of the Jio Preview Offer. Once their 90-day preview is up, users will be presented with the option to continue with Reliance jio's commercial tariff plan.
