Texas girl,11years, $60,000 investment 73crores turnover

COM

Mikaila Ulmer, 11years, secured a $60,000 investment from Shark Tank(tv show) and started BeeSweet Lemonade.

-Then my Great Granny Helen, who lives in Cameron, South Carolina, sent my family a 1940's cookbook, which included her special recipe for Flaxseed Lemonade
-lemon juice turns into "BEE SWEET LEMONADE"
She’s turning lemons into dollars.
Business savvy Mikaila Ulmer has just signed a deal with supermarket giant Whole Foods to distribute her “BeeSweet Lemonade” brand to 55 stores across the US.
The lemonade — which the 11-year-old Texan concocts with lemons, locally sourced honey, mint, and flaxseed — will be available for purchase in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Arkansas.
Ulmer attributes her delicious recipe to her great-grandmother Helen and her curiosity. Sustaining two bee stings at the tender age of 4 years old peaked the little entrepreneur’s interest in the endangered insects’ role in the ecosystem

“I didn’t enjoy the bee stings at all. They scared me," Ulmer told NBC.
"But then something strange happened. I became fascinated with bees. I learned all about what they do for me and our ecosystem. So then I thought, what if I make something that helps honeybees and uses my Great Granny Helen’s recipe?"
From there, Ulmer began perfecting her juice and entering it into competitions. At just 10 years old she landed a spot on ABC’s “Shark Tank” and locked down a $60,000 deal which gave her a 25 percent stake in the company, BeeSweet Lemonade, from CEO Daymond John, according to The Root.
The money will aid the bright little girl to increase production and facilitate the beverage company to run larger batches of the popular juice to keep up with demand.
The bee ambassador donates a percentage of the profits from BeeSweet Lemonade to local and international organizations who work to save honeybees, according to her website — where a ton of tasty lemonade recipes can be found. And the beverage is available to buy at a growing number of restaurants and delivery companies.
Ulmer’s business venture has landed her several awards — notably the African American Harvest Foundation Story Changer award and Environmental Entrepreneur Award for her work saving bees.
The POTUS himself has even tried the eco-friendly refreshment — this week, Ulmer appeared as a celebrity chef at the White House’s Easter Egg Roll and served Barack Obama a fresh glass of lemonade.
This busy little bee is buzzing, and she ain’t showing any signs of slowing down.

what i am going to do after btech

You must have asked yourself this question a lot of times at some point or the other in your life. In India you are not judged by what you have studied but what you do after you complete your education. The society is more concerned about the job and salary you get after education and not the intellectual property you have earned.

10 things you can do after B.Tech

This article talks about the Top 10 Career Options you can choose from after your B. Tech. /B.E. If you are a current student of B. Tech or have passed out recently, then this article is a MUST read for you.

What have you thought about doing next? M.Tech? OR MBA? OR a job? Even if you have decided on something, it is advisable to explore the other options lying in front of you. It’s a truth never discussed or told. We prefer keeping silent and let things happen only to cry later about the mistakes we made.

Before we start exploring the options available, let us keep three things in mind:
Three Mantras to always keep in mind
-Don’t leave an option straight forward because it is too mediocre. You don’t need to follow others but to follow your heart.
-It's okay if a million other people like you are preparing for an entrance exam, including your friends! If you believe you can crack the exam, trust me YOU CAN.
-Everybody is not born to graduate, do an MBA and get a high paying job. If people like Gandhi, SC Bose and APJ Abdul Kalam thought this way the world would have missed a lot of positive changes. Be the change you want to see in the world.

1. Campus Placement
Already bored of studying? Then getting selected in a decent company visiting your campus seems a good option. If you don’t have any intentions of studying further, or at least immediately after B. Tech,  you can opt for a job. This is considered to be a safer option where you get time to decide which field you want to stick to-Technical or you want to shift your core interest area from technical to management to some other stream.
2. Go for an M.Tech degree
If you studied engineering out of passion and not because you were forced by your parents or just for sake of doing it, then MTech is a good option. You can opt for the field of study you aspire to expertise in. For this, you need to prepare well for the entrance exams to get into a good college. GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is a national exam conducted in India which can fetch you admission in IITs, IISC or NITs and many others.

3. Do an MBA
Don’t feel you are the technical guy your parents wanted you to be? Always felt like you are a manager and want to see yourself in a business suit in some MNC? Probably you have a fascination for MBA too. Don’t get diverted by the thoughts that everyone is doing an MBA right now and its value has decreased. If you want to make a career in the management sector, hold managerial positions, then MBA is the right choice. You may specialize in your area of interest which may be the all time popular fields like HR, Marketing, Sales or the new growing domains like Digital Marketing, International Relations etc. In India, there are various entrance examinations that will help you get into the top 30 MBA colleges. CAT (Common Admission Test) serves as a gateway for an MBA at the IIMs and many other leading institutes. Some other popular exams are XAT (Xaviers), NMAT, SNAP, CMAT, TISS, IRMA etc.
4. Prepare for Civil Services
Always saw yourself as an IAS or IPS officer? Admit it, some day or the other you must have thought about preparing for the Civil Services but left the thought because you felt that it's very tough to crack!
Yes. Indeed it is one of the toughest exams in the world to crack and there lies a huge competition to be a civil servant, but you cannot hold yourself back because of this. Civil Services is not just about cracking an exam and then clearing an interview, it judges you on everything you can think of, who you are and what  you stand for!
You need to put your complete focus in addition to lots of determination to prepare for Civil Services Examination. For that you need to - Believe in yourself.
5. Short Term Courses
There are various short term courses and diploma courses you can opt for after your B.Tech. It can be a certificate course in embedded technology, VLSI, robotics, ethical hacking, protocol testing, machine designing etc.  or a diploma course in any specific domain.
Such courses are generally job oriented and serve as a bridge between what you know and what the industry expects you to know in order to absorb you into their organization.
6. Entrepreneurship-Start your venture
Do you have dreams of being a job provider? Always wanted to be your own boss? Then starting something of your own is a great option. But before you think about it you need to be sure about your options. Startup is trending more as a fashion than a career option. Being your own boss does not mean you can ignore work and life would be easy. Starting your venture and making it succeed would be the toughest of all the things you can do. It will have ups and downs every new day. Maybe you would not get any client for the whole year. Be ready for the challenges and immense learning if you are determined to be an entrepreneur. This is the road less travelled.
7. Go Abroad
It is also a very good option to explore. If you choose to study abroad, you will get a lot of exposure and learning along with the education part. You might also be able to get a job at international locations if you have plans to settle abroad permanently in the future.
You can also explore integrated opportunities abroad. Along with options of MS you may explore options of MS+PhD and other research oriented courses. In addition, you could look at the various fellowships in research and development category available that may fascinate you too. You can also apply for the various scholarships which will fund your education partially or completely.
8. Join the army
Give a chance to the patriot in you. Joining the Army/Navy/Air Force or any other wing of the defense services can be exciting and high paying at the same time. You can join as technical staff by applying through the University Entry Scheme (UES), which requires you to apply on their respective websites or appear for the AFCAT (Air Force Common Admission Test). You can also apply for flying positions in Indian Air Force by clearing AFCAT.
The times are gone when you tagged defense services with only patriotism. Now you can be utterly professional when opting for defense as a career. These positions will give you an opportunity to live your life for the nation, a life with good facilities and a decent sum to take home as well.

9. Be a Change Maker
Feel fascinated when you see someone fighting for the rights of others?  Want to bring some positive change in life of others? You can work for an NGO or start your own, you can choose a career in journalism, opt for social research or do something in your own profession itself by helping people who don’t have access to it, e.g. if you are a lawyer, fight for the rights of the less privileged; if you are a doctor, treat people; if you are an engineer, innovate for the mass etc.

10. Explore the artist in you!
In India we have a habit of not mixing our profession and our passion. But what if our passion becomes our profession?
Wouldn’t it be so amazing to do what you love rather than going the other way round of loving what you do?
It can be anything ranging from photography, painting, performing arts, astrology, writing or yoga.  If you love writing, be a writer; love capturing nature and wildlife, explore your options in photography; love speaking and talking to people, Be a Radio Jockey; always found your legs move with the music, be a dancer! Let it be any other passion as well. If you can attain expertise in your passion and can earn your bread and butter with it, it’s a good way to go. At least you would never regret doing something you never liked and you would live every moment doing what you love.
So did you find something that excites you? Or maybe therein lies something beyond these for you!  What matters in the end is that you are happy about what you have done & what you are doing.
Remember, if you want to worry about what people think about you or what people will think about you if you do this or that, then there is a problem! What should ideally matter is how you see yourself. Do you respect the person you are? If yes, you are on the right path!
Do share your opinions with us on what you think about the article. Also please share any other exciting career options available which we may have missed.

Vijay Mallya's Diplomatic Passport Suspended For 4 Weeks

Vijay Mallya has failed thrice to appear before the Enforcement Directorate for questioning.

NEW DELHI:

HIGHLIGHTS

  1. Billionaire Vijay Mallya is in the UK
  2. Defied several requests asking him to return to Mumbai for interrogation
  3. Banks struggling to recover money owed by his Kingfisher Airlines
India has suspended the passport of billionaire Vijay Mallya, who is in the UK at a time when banks are struggling to recover nearly a billion dollars owed by his Kingfisher Airlines.

Mr Mallya, 60, has defied several requests asking him to return to Mumbai for interrogation. His lawyers have said that he is making himself available in video-conferences to banks, and therefore, his presence in India is not necessary.

In repeated tweets, Mr Mallya, who is a Rajya Sabha MP, has said he is not an absconder. As a parliamentarian, he has a diplomatic passport, which is suspended for a month, said the government today. He has been given a week to explain why it should not be revoked.

A group of 18 banks, most of them state-run, have turned down two offers by Mr Mallya to pay off their loans in installments. They said that Mr Mallya must meet them in person for negotiations.

Last week, Mr Mallya, who had guaranteed the Kingfisher loans, proposed to pay 4,000 crores to the lenders by September, and another 2,000 crores if Kingfisher wins a lawsuit seeking damages from a plane engine-maker.

The banks approached the Supreme Court towards the end of February asking for Mr Mallya to be stopped from traveling abroad; however, the government then revealed that he had already flown to London.

Mr Mallya's passport has been suspended because he has "stopped cooperating with investigators", said sources in the Enforcement Directorate, which wants to question him about money-laundering in a 900-crore loan from IDBI, a state-run bank.

Mr Mallya, once called the "King of Good Times" for his extravagant lifestyle, set up Kingfisher Airlines in 2003. After collecting huge financial losses, it stopped functioning in 2012; former employees are still owed wages.

James Cameron announces four                  'AVATAR' sequels

It's been a while, but James Cameron is finally making a return to Pandora in December 2018 with "Avatar 2." The followup to the 2009 blockbuster will be followed by more sequels in 2020, 2022 and 2023. "It's going to be a true epic saga," Cameron said. Here's a look at some other high-profile upcoming releases that continue popular movie franchises.

James Cameron announced at CinemaCon 2016 today that there will be four Avatar sequels, with the first hitting theaters in 2018.
Avatar 2 was pushed back earlier this year to avoid opening the same weekend as Star Wars Episode VIII, and now it looks like that movie will be the first of many to come within James Cameron's universe.
According to Variety, the next three films will premiere in 2020, 2022 and 2023. Cameron said the sequels would be filmed concurrently and each will be a standalone film, which combined will create a complete saga.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly last December, Cameron said he felt pressured with his sequel, saying he wants to make sure the first Avatar "wasn't just some big fluke."

odd-even days

NEW DELHI:The Delhi government is all set to roll out the second phase of the odd-even scheme today with 2,000 traffic personnel, 580 enforcement officials and over 5,000 civil defence volunteers being deployed on the roads of the national capital daily for 15 days.

However, not much rush is expected on the public transport facilities such as Delhi Metro and Delhi Transport Corporation, who have announced extra trains and buses respectively till April 30, today being a public holiday on account of Ramnavami.

Also, a 20-member Special Task Force has been set up to look into matters reported by the mobile teams.
The Delhi government is all set to roll out the second phase of the odd-even scheme today with 2,000 traffic personnel, 580 enforcement officials and over 5,000 civil defence volunteers being deployed on the roads of the national capital daily for 15 days.

However, not much rush is expected on the public transport facilities such as Delhi Metro and Delhi Transport Corporation, who have announced extra trains and buses respectively till April 30, today being a public holiday on account of Ramnavami.

"An enforcement plan has been chalked out under which the city has been divided into 11 zones for the implementation of the scheme. Each zone will have 10 sectors. One mobile enforcement team will operate in each sector," Transport Minister Gopal Rai told reporters on Thursday.

The Delhi government, which has projected the second phase of the road-rationing policy as the "decisive" one, said that 2,000 traffic personnel, 580 enforcement officials and over 5,000 civil defence volunteers are being deployed for its smooth implementation.

Violators will be fined Rs. 2,000 in accordance with relevant section of the Motor Vehicles Act and the scheme will not be implemented on Sundays.

The enforcement teams have a ten-point focus chart which comprises areas near ISBTs, railway stations, health institutions, trade centres, district courts, city borders, education institutions, major traffic intersections, IGI Airport and crowded office buildings, Mr Rai said.

The traffic department has identified 200 intersections in the city where their personnel will be deployed in teams, with their sizes depending upon the volume of traffic in those intersections.

The first phase of the policy, that was in force between January 1 and 15, did not have its intended affect as it could not lower pollution "as much as expected" but it significantly helped reduce traffic congestion in the city, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has said.

However, Mr Kejriwal has also stated that his government is seriously considering to enforce the measure for a period of fifteen days every month. Experts will be monitoring its affect on gaseous pollutants such as Ozone this time.

Apart from enforcement officials and traffic personnel, 5,331 civil defence volunteers will also remain deployed at 205 strategic points in the national capital to ensure implementation of the scheme. In the last phase (January 1-15), around 4,000 of such volunteers were pressed into service, Mr Rai said.

Also, 321 wardens have been entrusted with the duty of ensuring coordination between volunteers and the government, he said. Mr Rai said the government has not been able to find a solution to the problem of cars picking up children after school hours during the fortnight-long road rationing scheme.

Cars with children in school uniforms are exempted from the odd-even scheme. But parents have raised apprehensions over the fate of the cars going to pick them up.

Referring to a recently conducted study by the government, Mr Rai said that when it comes to picking up children after the school hours, around 85 per cent drivers are women, who are already exempted under the scheme. For the remaining, people should resort to carpooling.

When asked why a CNG sticker or certification-like arrangement could not be made for such cars, Mr Rai said that monitoring of such a task was not possible at the moment.

He said many complaints were received in connection with CNG stickers during and after the last phase of odd-even scheme due to which the government has cut down the list of CNG stations from where the stickers can be availed to only one this time.

There are over 3,000 schools in the city and there are high chances of a scam in case any certification-like arrangement was made, he said.

At this moment, it is not possible to set up a monitoring system for that, the minister said.

Mr Rai said the government has also arranged for adequate supply of drinking water, lemonade, caps, umbrellas and special ambulances for the volunteers facing the scorching heat during the period.

He said that 10 CCTV cameras have been installed at specific intersections to monitor vehicular movement during the fortnight.
